Country Save™ Powdered Laundry Detergent
This is the page that probably gives you, the military family, more info than you actually want ... but at least you know where to find it if you need it! Country Save™ Corporation is 30 years old this year in 2007! We are the oldest "environmentally-safe" laundry brand in the USA and possibly the world. We are family owned, make our products in small batches to make sure quality goes into every box or packet and we are sure EVERY military family that tries Country Save will be surprised and delighted at the results and the quality of the product! Your biggest challenge will be the first purchase when you decide to pick up Country Save instead of Tide™ or another well known brand. By the way, we don't bash other products but we will tell you some of the differences in our products on some of the other pages in this website! Since we don't believe in mystery websites where you have to search for reasons to buy a product, here is a one page synopsis of what you will find: Country Save™ & Elmer's Glue™ - our founder was their inventor first, back in 1947. Made For The Military Member - gets uniforms clean without depositing OPTICAL BRIGHTENERS that are made to reflect light ... ok, what does a night vision scope do for a sniper? Made For Spouses, Too - just because it gets uniforms clean doesn't mean it won't work on civilian clothes, athletic and underwear! Made For Military Families - Kids are a big part of many military families and it works great on anything from diapers to grass stains on jeans! Country Save™ Makes Your Detergent Dollar Go Further - when you make your financial decision to buy detergent, do you think the cheapest is the best? Do you think that a Tide™ 40 wash box has 40 scoops of detergent in it? Read further you might be surprised! Send Country Save™ To Your Soldier In The Field - Country Save™ has packets of detergent that are soft, easy to open and easy to carry. You can purchase a box of 100 packets and send them to Iraq or any of the other places your loved one may be via an APO address. Read The Box Before You Buy - 4 views of the box that you can read up close. By the way, we have had the US Flag in the window since September, 2001.

Tide™ Powder in the 40 wash box is now 70 oz ... 17 oz LESS than it was last year at this time. On the side of the Tide™ box you will find the wording (don't worry, it is on all Tide™ boxes and most of the other competition also): "This box contains 40 medium loads as measured to the LOWEST LINE ON THE SCOOP". or something very similar to that. How many of you have ever used Tide™ and only used the lower line? (My guess is very few of you!) THERE ARE ONLY 15 (FIFTEEN) FULL SCOOPS OF DETERGENT IN A TIDE™ 40 WASH BOX. Just to clarify the declaration a little more (you could do this yourself but it might be a little messy) we can share with you the following information since P&G did not change the size of the scoop when they lowered the number of ounces in a box: The "Medium" Load Line (the lowest line on scoop) measurement is 2.1 oz or 33 washes per box. The "Line 1" Load Line (the middle line on the scoop) is 2.7 oz or 26 washes per box. The "Line 2" Load Line (the top line on the scoop ... but NOT a full scoop) is 3.6 oz or 19 washes per box. And finally, if you actually wanted to get 40 loads out of the 40 wash box you would use 1.75 oz of detergent which is BELOW THE LOWEST LINE ON THE SCOOP! You bought the box based on the 40 wash declaration and you got 15 scoops of detergent and went back to buy more ... so it actually costs you 2.5 times as much as you thought it was ... .assuming you used a full scoop each time. Once again, we are only showing you the comparison in packaging and what you are actually buying. We are not saying anything negative about the product itself ... but wouldn't you rather know exactly what you are buying? Lastly, many of you, including me, grew up with a Tide box in the laundry room. We are not saying that any of you made a mistake or that your Mother made a mistake. We are trying to point out in this new day and age of knowledge, that sometimes you think you are buying something and it just isn't packaged so you know what it is really costing you! After all, this is a big expense over a year and you might as well know what you are really buying and spending ... that's why Country Save has been around for 30 years selling value and quality! |
Why does the Country Save™ 80 oz box get 40 full scoops? First, our scoop is only 2 ounces, not 5.2oz so we do not encourage you to use more than you should. Second, you may ask why we only use a 2oz scoop. This is actually a question that is answered by how we make the product. Bulk density is a measure of the weight of a product in a cubic foot. Our bulk density is about 73 lbs per cubic foot and Tide™ is about 39 lbs per cubic foot. Tide™ simply has more air in because that is how it is made.
(And just for record, we are not making any statements regarding the quality of Tide™ or it's effectiveness as a detergent. We only talk about facts ... they have OPTICAL BRIGHTENERS, we don't ... they put a scoop in the box that is 2.5 times bigger than the load declaration they make on the front of the box, we don't ... Country Save™ weighs so much per cubic foot and Tide™ weighs so much per cubic foot ... all facts that no one disputes.)
Tide™ is not alone in the way they approach you as a customer. Virtually all other companies do the same thing. You simply pay more without realizing it ... another fact!
Country Save™ has been sending Single Wash Packets that are oversized to 2.6oz for purposes of having more than one wash if hand washing in a sink or pail is the mode of the day while under battle conditions. We have sent our products to APO addresses around the world via USPS Priority Mail.
We have established a singular Military Order Desk on this website that will allow you to order either a 5lb box and/or Single Wash Packets and have them sent to a loved one where Country Save™ is not available. At this moment we have been authorized for about 86 commissaries in the USA but not for overseas. Who knows, if you collectively order enough for shipment out we can make an argument for being included in other non-USA locations!
Your order link is : https://www.countrysaveDeCA.com/store/
Your pricing will be whatever you find on the site plus the USPS Flat Rate charge of $8.10 - - - we do not mark up shipping over cost on any military order.
You may write me at krisa@countrysave.com if you have any questions or comments!

Country Save™ is proud to show you the results of a recent test performed by Sterling Laboratories, of Sylvania, OH, an independent lab. Experience tells us the accumulated build-up of undissolved solids in your clothing is responsible for many skin irritations and the accelerated wear that many types of clothes demonstrate after months of washing. You may draw your own conclusions from the test results below. Country Save™ Powdered Laundry Detergent has been formulated to leave virtually no un-dissolved solids in your clothing.
Lab Report From:
STERLING LABORATORIES SYLVANIA, OHIO PROJECT: Solubility Swatches /CS-00089. 5 swatches total are shown. TEST: To show un-dissolved solids in each of five different powdered detergent products when mixed with water per manufacturer's specifications for a full load of laundry. Each sample was then processed through Japanese Black Cotton to catch solid materials.
